Title of position: Transport Operation Manager (TOM)
Reports to: Transport Area Manager
Underling: Transport Operation coordinators, Transport Planners
Job Summary:
· To secure and develop a professional, cost efficient and service oriented Transport Operational Process and organization that improves the performance in logistic and operational matters within the transport area, to reach the highest customer availability to the lowest possible Supply Chain costs.Main Responsibility:
· Responsible for the transport area's operations function, securing competence and resources within operations. Coach and develop the co-workers within transport operations
· Optimize and continuously develop the transport operational process in order to reduce costs and secure service levels throughout the supply chain in an environmentally aware way
· Agree and establish service requirements with all actors in the Transport Chain (sender, receiver, carrier)
· Follow-up the performance of the actors in the transport chain and secure that appropriate actions are taken
· Create and implement action plans in line with Transport Global Strategies
· Contribute to the development of IKEA in transport operational issues globally
· Implement global routines and working methods with all actors in the Transport Chain
· Complement global routines and working methods with local routines and working methods when necessary
· Contribute and support all systems (e.g.CNS) needed adaptations and the change request process Measurements

Requirements:
· University degree. If not possessed than equivalent experience is required
· Knowledge and understanding of the transport industry-preferably higher education in Transport/Logistics or Supply Chain
· 10+ years of relevant experience within Supply Chain and/or logistics in general
· Over 5 years working experience on managerial position or as a project manager with co-worker responsibility
· Good knowledge of the operational process concerning the transport industry
· Fluent in English and local language Capabilities &
