JOB CHARATERISTICS
Title : SP Regional Controller – Asia
REPORTS TO
Direct Reports to : SBU Asia General Manager -
Functional Reports to : SBU Finance Controller
JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities
In whole or in part responsibility covers the following:
Financial
· Provide all necessary operational finance and business support to the regional manager and management team.
· Ensures the correct, reliable and on time reporting of financial data for the region for all sBU, BU and GroupRequirements
· Co-ordinates and supports, both administratively and with regard to content, the planning and budgeting process and variance analyses within the region.
· Keeps the sBU controller appraised in a timely manner on all the financial aspects of the business.
· Maintains and develops the management reporting to measure and analyze the KPI’s of the business.
· Set-up, champion and manage OWC and margin management projects for Asia: being the regional analyst and driver of continuous improvement, ensure transfer of best practice, both within sBU SP and with regional controllers of other (s)BU’s.
· Help in the preparation, evaluation and subsequent approval of the regions capital expenditure requests before submission for onward approval to the sBU.
· Co-ordinates with the relevant Group departments for all matters associated with the financial operations of the region.
· Coordinates, manages and reports the Risk Management process for SP Asia.
Compliance
· Is the focal point for the regional business on all compliance matters:
2 Monitors the adherence of the regional business to all compliance programs.
2 Evaluates the effectiveness of the existing controls and procedures and initiate their changes to minimize financial risks to ensure the ability of the region to sign off as “in control”.
Information Technology
2 Supports the coordination of IT across the region to ensure the systems are consistent to the aims of the global and regional specialty plastics businesses. In addition to be the focal point to:
2 Develop the ERP system to meet the business needs.
2 Development of best practice methods and drive towards a common ERP system.

JOB REQUIREMENTS / CANDIDATE PROFILE
· University degree in Finance
· At least 8 years experience from which 3 years in business/plant controlling.
· Business acumen, striving for business understanding and act as business partner, not just as a controller to achieve what’s best for the business.
· High level of analytical thinking and project management skills with strong self initiative.
· Ability to plan and work independently towards agreed objectives.
· Self-reliant, dedicated, service minded and a truly reliable team player.
· Strong communication skills
· Fluent in Chinese and English, both spoken and written
